I applied online. I interviewed at Sandia National Laboratories (Albuquerque, NM) in Aug 2017
Interview
The lab flew me to Albuquerque to interview for a full day. I met several programming staff for one-on-one interviews composed of behavioral and technical questions, and I had lunch with two programmers at a local restaurant.
The interview seemed to go very well until the very last step. My most extensive, recent experience had been in Java, and I was a little concerned about being rusty in C++. I made the mistake of advertising that my C++ skill was a little dated, and in response, the hiring manager suddenly went cold.
I took the incident as a learning experience and resolved not to offer too many caveats about my experience in future interviews, and I subsequently landed a job at another defense contractor where I have performed exceptionally well.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How can you detect a cycle in a linked list using only constant space and linear time?
Interviewed for a job described as web dev mainly utilizing angular.
Interviewer showed no interest in my 2 internships using angular and instead spent the whole time asking me questions focused on mobile focused development.
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sandia National Laboratories (Berkeley, CA) in Sept 2023
Interview
It was pretty chill, some coding questions and recruiter chats. I think this was a little easier than usual because I am a student on campus, and they met me from the career fairs.
