Not a great experience at all. I interviewed for an HRBP position and during the conversation with the recruiter, we realized I was a better fit for another HRBP role in the company. While I appreciated the initial pivot, what followed was a striking lack of professionalism and respect for my time.
After being referred to a second recruiter, I had to follow up three times just to receive a response and schedule a basic screening. That conversation went well, and I was advanced to the hiring manager—who proceeded to cancel our interview twice, including one just minutes before our scheduled time. When we finally connected, she openly admitted that her personal life was chaotic and that this was the reason for the repeated delays—an inappropriate and unprofessional disclosure in a formal interview context.
After that meeting, I followed up with the recruiter on two separate occasions for an update and received no reply—no closure, no next steps, no feedback. Weeks later, my application still shows as “active” in their system, yet I’ve been completely ghosted.
For a company presumably seeking strategic HR leadership, this process demonstrated a remarkable disregard for candidate experience, communication standards, and basic accountability.
