Took Shift3 a month to respond to my initial application. They sent me an email expressing that they wanted me to come in for an interview.
The interview was fine, we discussed my technical background, what I was looking for in my next role, etc. He asked one technical question about how to deploy a node app to a Linux server, which I answered successfully. He ended the interview with the exact phrase: “well your background sounds good, I think we’d like to give you some work”. He then asked me to send him an email with my salary requirements.
So later that same day, I sent an email and made a reasonable salary request, and mentioned that I would really like to work in software in Fresno, so I was willing to negotiate.
The interviewer never responded. I send a follow up email a week later. No response. I sent an additional follow up email. No response.
Since then I’ve seen a pattern of this with Bitwise. They only hire their own. They are so concerned with furthering their narrative of “we’re teaching the gritty kids of Fresno how to code and giving them jobs”, that they are losing the little tech talent that Fresno has, to the Bay Area.
Steer clear.
