I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Shopee (Manila, Manila) in Sept 2020
Interview
1. Excel exam - big data, business report/recommendation based on the data, graphs, use complex formulas. It’s more on inventory management.
2. HR Interview. The questions were asked to me weren’t really what I expected (e.g., how do you deal with an opposing opinion, what kpi do you have trouble achieving and how did you overcome it, what can you offer to the job, how do you manage multiple tasks, what can you bring to the org). Interview took me 25 mins.
3. Interview with Team Lead. He invited a colleague to the skype interview. Asked me if I was okay with that... lol does it look like I have a choice? Interview turned to into a case study. Like if I were assigned to the next campaign, how will I dispose the remaining 600 phones? what’s my analytical approach? Etc. Interview took an hour... toughest interview tbh. I knew then that I didn’t get the job.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Shopee (Mandaluyong City) in Feb 2024
Interview
I had 3 interviews in a span of 3 months that they were considering me, interviews were set for you without your acknowledgment of the date and time so in short its up to you if you'll show up, they really do not care about your time. The interviews and the managers were somewhat in the middle in the difficulty scale, mostly situational questions of how will you make an account grow, but during my last interview the manager made me answer 3 math questions that required the use of excel but it was still easy I was just not expecting that, so do be mindful of this part.
Now what I really find the least and utmost unprofessional is the HR, they really have the most unprofessional HR in all that I have talked to. All of my emails with the HR who was handling me, not really an asking type but more of just emails of the set time and date of my interviews, not bothering to ask whether I am available on the said date, which was really bothersome as I have overlapping interviews with other companies during that time. They don't give you an update of your application, whether you will go on to the next interview or not. I knew that they were putting me as a backup, but this was really just unprofessional and degrading. Overall, if this is just the hiring stage and with how the HR is (fyi my second time applying in shopee - so had two experiences that are the same already), it is still somewhat of a startup culture, organization skills needs a lot of improvement.
