Interview
Hiring/Interview process revolved almost entirely around "capability to work in this environment" and very little emphasis on technical ability. There were some technical questions, but very few and far between. Focus very much on the ability to "roll your sleeves up and get stuck in" though that has evolved significantly now.

Most difficult question was: "you've been sent to a site with a non-working outdoor wireless access point that you don't know the username, password or IP address of. How do you intend to attempt to get into it to manage/troubleshoot it?"
