      Customer Success Manager Interview

      16 Aug 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SimpleTexting in Mar 2023

      Interview

      - First applied online and submitted a writing sample about why you want to work there. -Was called for an interview via Zoom one month after applying. Interviewer cancelled and rescheduled the interview three times before finally connecting. - Next step was to submit another writing sample. This one took about an hour to complete. You had to sell a product to a customer and create an email pitch. - After that, another interview with the team and with the manager - After that ANOTHER interview with HR again. And again she cancelled and rescheduled numerous times- once an hour before the interview - They then asked for emails of contacts for references. All referrals had to be done via zoom. and all referrals needed to be a supervisor in a former position (no co-workers or clients) - Two weeks later, I will still waiting to hear back. At this point so much time had passed from initial application, that I found another position

      Customer Success Manager Interview

      7 Nov 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SimpleTexting (New York, NY) in Jan 2022

      Interview

It started out fine and they contacted me back quickly. The interview itself was pretty standard. They asked about my experience with Customer Success, some of the projects I had worked on and the impact they had on my team. It got weird, quickly. The interviewer was really pushy about my salary requirements. When I declined to answer she asked why I didn't want to tell her and I felt like she was trying to back me into a corner which I didn't like. When I asked her what the range was she told me they were looking to pay around $23,000 for the CSM role. I told her that was not acceptable since my range was between $70 and 80k (which is pretty standard) and she said that was doable. I don't know if she was just trying to play with me and waste my time, but I found that very disrespectful and frankly, absolutely crazy and way out of line. Needless to say that was the end of that.
