The interview process with Slice Bread consists of several stages . The first step is a screener interview with a recruiter. The HR interview really focuses on assessing the candidate's soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and cultural fit.
After successfully passing the screener interview, I proceeded to the technical assessment stage. This assessment is tailored to the specific role in this case Digital Marketing Strategist. It asked me 15 questions about Google Analytics, funnels, landing pages, conversion rates and how to handle upset customers .
Upon completing the technical assessment, The next stage of the interview process involves an interview with the Department Manager. This interview was an in-depth discussion about the specific role, its responsibilities, and the department's goals and objectives. I was bothered that the department manager in this case recorded my interview without my permission.
I logged in and then the recording light was on in the Zoom without giving me the option to decline. The Dept Manager asked about my current tech stack, how we did reporting at my current place of employment, whether or not I had any experience with branding, even though this role was heavily focused on Google Analytics audits and Meta audits and producing reporting and suggestions.
That Friday I received an email from the recruiter that my interview went well and that he'd be scheduling an interview with the head of another department and the agency owner. The following Friday at 3pm I received a second email from the recruiter saying " Whoops, looks like I wouldn't be moving on to the third round anymore. "There was "nothing wrong" with my technical skills but there was a typo on my resume. I was shocked to say the least. I have over 11yrs of experience as a digital marketer so I am shocked to hear something so trivial at this stage and after investing so much time at a below market rate salary offer 80K.
