Met with hiring managed. Interview was normal and at the end the hiring manager let me know they are looking for “actual hard workers” who can handle the fact that they run as a skeleton crew.
Thanks for your feedback.
Like most small to midsize saas businesses, we operate as a lean team. We prefer to stay at the required capacity vs overhiring and then laying people off (we haven't had a single layoff since covid), and we are proud of our hard-working team. It's a different type of experience compared to working at a large org - there are pros and cons, and we want to ensure potential incoming team members are informed and aligned with expectations.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Smartling (Dallas, TX) in Jun 2024
Interview
The interview process was very pleasant. It was efficient and quick. I had met with the recruiter along with the operations director. Very pleasant chat with both. I didn't get the job in the end, as while I had the experience they were looking for someone with a more specific fit. It was a lovely conversation in the end about where our industry is going.

Question 1
General questions about my experience, salary expectations, would you be comfortable working more than the typical 40 hours a week (as company grows)
I applied online. I interviewed at Smartling in Sept 2023
Interview
Straightforward process: Recruiter call, followed by interview with the manager. Both calls were conversational and informative. Seems like a very welcoming environment. The recruiter followed up to let me know that they decided not to move forward. Not the outcome I hoped for but both calls were friendly and it was a fast process overall.
