I applied online. I interviewed at Southern Cross University (Brisbane) in Dec 2025
Interview
Interview process consisted of 3 stages.
First stage was with HR for screening (teams call). HR lady seemed overwhelmed by the number of interviews being organised and something as simple as setting up the first call seemed quite difficult, nearly cancelled the first call as I didn’t get a response in time.
Second interview was great and covered the job at a high level, meeting the architecture lead.
Third interview was a 3xperson panel interview , including HR lady from first interview , architecture lead from 2nd interview and cyber lead.
Some of the questions asked looked like they were taken from ChatGPT , it didn’t look the interviewers read my resume or read the job description, I was asked some questions that were unrelated to my role (DLP, Purview etc).
Never got a response or any feedback, poor experience overall.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Southern Cross University (Gold Coast) in Nov 2025
Interview
Exhaustive. 6 interviews and 2 reference checks all not be be offered the role. Excuse was "did not know our systems well enough" which if true (it wasn't) should have ruled me out of the screening interview, or at worst, the technical interview (which was the 2nd interview of 6).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you handle being in a role with no real power (I should have seen that as a read flag given the seniority of the role).
I sent a resume and cover letter with selection criteria answers. Got a phone call and an online (zoom) interview invitation with a panel with 4 people. 30 minutes. They described about the role, asked total 5 or 6 questions. No questions about my answers. They asked me if I had any questions at the end.
