      Propulsion Systems Engineer Interview

      20 Sept 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Brownsville, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SpaceX (Brownsville, TX) in Sept 2024

      Interview

It was the standard process of one HR interview, one technical interview with the director, and an on-site interview. HR one was a breeze, just basic resume stuff. The technical interview involved in depth technical questions about projects and experiences on my resume, and then technical questions on beam bending, pressure vessels, bolts, and stress-strain curves. On-site interview involved giving a technical presentation, where they then have a Q&A session after and really grill you on each decision you made and why. Unfortunately, I did not move past this part of the on-site interview. They provide you with feedback later on through email that is somewhat helpful, but make sure you know the project in and out and be explicit with everything you mention because they will penalize you for having to prod you for an answer you should have mentioned on your own. Also make sure the project has a very large scope.
