I recently interviewed with Spaceflow for a Head of Engineering position, and while I was initially excited about the opportunity, the interview process itself left a lot to be desired. Below is a summary of my experience:
Scheduling and Organization
The interview scheduling was highly disorganized. On multiple occasions, in-person meetings were canceled by the company roughly an hour before their scheduled start. This led to significant inconvenience and made me question Spaceflow’s ability to manage basic logistical tasks.
Interview Experience
When I finally did have a conversation with the hiring team, only one of the two expected interviewers showed up. Despite this, the discussion was relatively constructive; we covered relevant topics regarding my background and how it aligned with the role.
The interviewer was professional, but it was difficult to get a sense of how the wider team operates, given that only one person was present.
Post-Interview Follow-Up
At the end of the call, we agreed there would be a follow-up interview. However, after that discussion, Spaceflow never reached out to schedule the next round.
I sent multiple emails to confirm our next steps, but received no reply whatsoever. This lack of communication was disappointing and unprofessional.
Overall Impression
The inconsistent scheduling, lack of follow-up, and apparent communication breakdown raised concerns about the company’s internal processes.
There also seemed to be a shortage of senior-level professionals and strong leadership, which was evident from the uncoordinated approach to interviews and the limited availability of interviewers.
