This is a long story so please get some coffee, a snack, and grab a chair...
In the beginning, the interview was pretty normal at first with the "call screening and scheduling a date to interview" process. I had three separate interviews with the hiring managers on a Monday (1:1), Tuesday (via phone), and Thursday (1:1) in the same week. The interview questions were not hard and were more managerial than technical. Once I completed the 3rd interview, I was advised that they were looking for someone with more managerial skills (which in my opinion, the 1st interview should have been the time to mention that versus going through 2 other interviews and wasting an individual's time). The hiring manager did offer me to another position within the organization, which I accepted. This is were the interview process becomes extremely negative. The Sr. Recruiter contacted me about the position and was asking about salary requirements. He stated that the salary was doable and that he will set up "a package for me to review" and told me to apply so my name can be attached to the application. I asked multiple questions to confirm if this is an offer; Me: "Do I need to go through the interview process again?" Recruiter: "Nope, it is with the same group!" Me: "Is there anything I would need to do on my end?" Recruiter: "Just apply to the position so we can get everything situated". Does this sound like an offer to anyone? Well, you would be wrong. Once I applied to the position I heard nothing back for almost 2 weeks and had to email the recruiter, with the recruiter replying back several days later. He sets up ANOTHER INTERVIEW and I ask "I thought I did not need to go through with another interview process?" Recruiter: "I do not need to interview with the same people." Ok, that is somewhat understandable, unfortunately, that was NOT the case. I had an interview with the SAME hiring manager. At this point, I am drained from interviewing and taking time off to prove my worth. After the interview (15minutes), he stated he would make a decision next week, huh? I went from being offer a position to a "I'll let you know". At this point I am extremely frustrated. I wait for a week and a half, no contact from the recruiter or hiring manager. I had to email the recruiter for status, and yes, you guessed it, no offer. The recruiter had to go back and worth with the hiring manager, which most of the time they were not on the same page, which also shows that the communication within that particular organization was extremely poor. Also, the company had recently merged and the organizational structure was being rebuilt/redesigned, which caused the company to be poorly structured as well. If this is how Spectrum treats potential employees and their time, I wonder how the company treats the individuals that actually work for them.
