      Data Visual Engineer Interview

      27 Sept 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Splunk (San Francisco, CA) in Sept 2019

      Interview

initial tech screen via codility - Finish a react component by making sure all the test cases pass - Implement something knowing Javascript Prototypes On-Site Coding Rounds (5 Tech screens, 1 Manager screen) They will ask general questions about the specific position you're applying for, but all of the white boarding is in JavaScript. I felt like I was interviewing to be part of the TC39 committee than actually applying for a Data Visual Engineer as they didn't test me on any d3 or react.

Thank you for taking the time to interview with us and for the thoughtful review. We're sorry to hear the coding rounds weren't exactly what you were expecting and we'd love to hear more about how we can improve! Please feel free to share more by emailing us at openconversation@splunk.com. - Mike Saltzman, Talent Acquisition
