I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Splunk in Dec 2023
Interview
After reading the job description, which also listed the salary range for the position. I applied for the position on November 17, 2023, although the high end of the salary range listed was low, based on my salary requirements. I decided the high end of the salary range was acceptable because of the positive information I had gathered about the company from my research.
I interviewed with the HR representative, November 30, 2023, and subsequently with the hiring manager December 7, 2023. The next day, December 8, 2023, I received a call from the HR representative. She asked how the interview had gone with the hiring manager. I told her it went very well.
We then proceeded to discuss the salary for the position. The amount she said they could offer was $6,600 lower than the amount listed in the job description - which I pointed out to her. I asked why did it change. She said she wasn't sure; however, that was the highest they could offer. I said I could not accept that salary - which ended my eligibility to move to the next step in the interview process.
If the salary offered had been listed in the job description, I would not have applied.
