I applied online. I interviewed at Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA) in Nov 2017
Interview
It was a Skype interview with two of the main postdocs in the lab and one PhD student. They went over basic skill sets and expertise check.
It was a one hour interview and I got an offer in 4 hours of interview.
The HR was really nice and helped me in the on boarding process thoroughly. Overall it was a great experience
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA) in Feb 2024
Interview
Was introduced to the fundamentals of the lab and its research goals, as well as day-to-day operations and their long-term implications. Principal Investigator was courteous and provided extensive knowledge regarding their research background and their interests as a mentor, Related my current skillset to what the lab was looking for, and answered some generic interview questions.

Respectful and forthcoming with information and expectations about the role. First asked about personal aspriations as an applicant, then discussed responsibilites of the job, and moved into salary and benefits discussion. Very friendly!

Interview
Had a phone interview, was then called in for an in-person interview.
During my interview, I was notified that I would NOT be performing the vast majority of the duties listed on the job description and required specific qualifications not mentioned on the description and did NOT require the qualifications listed on the description.
Two weeks of silence and I was notified that they preferred to hire internally. The next day, I saw THREE new listings from the same lab, with the same misleading job title and job description. The specialty work done by this lab does NOT fit the description of Life Science Research Professional or Research Personnel, nor does it fit the additional non-generic duties and perks listed by the job listing. Very unprofessional conduct from such a prestigious institution.
