I applied online. I interviewed at State of Michigan (Flint, MI) in Feb 2018
Interview
For an entry level position they ask and expect too much, especially if you haven’t even done that kind of work. They judge you on things expected of an experienced worker. If they want experience they should list the job as such. They don’t care about education or experience in customer service. How they score you on details of the job that you really have no knowledge of because you haven’t worked there is unfair.

I applied in May and had my interview over Teams in July. The interview questions and a writing exercise was emailed to me 30 minutes before the interview began. If you do the prep work, it is not a difficult interview. It is the STAR method. They will email you a list of competencies when you schedule your interview. Make sure you have STAR based answers for all of them ready.
