      Manager Interview

      21 Apr 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Stego Industries

      Interview

The interview process started after I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn - prior to that I was not familiar with the company or the open position (or the recruiter). The process consisted of 5 steps: 1. Initial intro to the position by the recruiter over the phone. This didn't seem like an interview but more to gage if I was interested and thought I would be a fit for the position. 2. Initial video call with hiring manager - this was approx. 20 mins or so and seemed more of a 'Meet & Greet' with some basic introduction to the company and position as well as high level questions for me by the hiring manager. 3. Interview (video) with both the hiring manager and an additional director. Planned for 60 minutes but we talked for 75-80 minutes with many questions related to my experience and background. Questions were more broad rather than super specific or to challenge my knowledge. 4. Panel interview - including the hiring manager and 3 others. Questions very much related to gage my fit with the overall company culture as well as expertise in areas that overlap with the responsibilities of the different people interviewing me (who I would be collaborating with, if hired). Majority of the questions were more strategic or situational in nature (also here, no hard test questions related to my area of expertise). 5. Writing sample - the last step in the process where you are asked to complete a 1h writing assignment (subject is provided by HR). There was approximately 1 week between every step of the process except for the writing sample step which happened 2 business days after the panel interview (step 4). All interviews were virtual but very pleasant, they started perfectly on time, with questions that seemed relevant for the nature of the position as well as assessment of the fit with the company culture, and were not intended to 'trick you'. There were many opportunities for me to ask questions as well and all interviewers would take out extra time when they had more questions. I thought everyone was very friendly, was well prepared and genuinely interested to get a good assessment of me as a candidate. All interim communication ran through the HR representative; communication was very quick, to-the-point yet also supportive and encouraging. After every step in the process, I would receive a confirmation about moving onto the next step either the same day or the next day. I received an offer on the same day of completing the writing sample; the offer was verbally finalized still on the same day with signed documentation completed the following day.

We also aim to reflect Stego’s culture and core values throughout the process to give the candidate an accurate view of Stego so they can determine if we’re the right company for them.
