A recruiter from the company reached out to me on LinkedIn after I applied for the job posting. He asked when I would be available for a call. I provided him a range of time along with my cellphone number. We agreed on a time to talk the next day. Due to an error calculating the difference in time zones, the interviewer ended up calling me an hour early. The interview consisted of very basic questions (e.g. why I am switching jobs, what my salary range is, how my experience is relevant, etc.). We agreed to have another interview the following Monday. Monday comes around and a few hours before the interview the interviewer messages to let me know that the position had already been filled as the company had been interviewing an internal candidate and had already extended an offer letter. The interview and preparation ended up being a waste of time. This is something that the recruiting company should have known if they kept in contact with the company they are finding candidates for.
