Two rounds interview, one virtual with HR, the second one in person with head of finance. Got a positive response after about 10 days.
Very nice atmosphere during both interviews.
I applied online. I interviewed at StoryToys (Dublin, Dublin) in Mar 2026
Interview
I truly have a lot of respect and admiration for this company as a whole, so I'm hoping that what I went through was just an outlier.
I had three interviews total, with the first one being a screener with the external recruiter. Following the second interview, I was told I'd be given a take-home art test. The art test I received from the hiring manager had zero information, brief, or even deadlines. Just a link to the files. After replying to ask if there was anything else I should know, the hiring manager replied "Not really. Thanks". When pressed further, I got an automated response saying she'd be on vacation for the next week and a half. In the end, I had to track down another designer with the company to ask to have the needed information sent over.
After two weeks of radio silence, and just a few days before the final interview, I got an email from the recruiter (who was amazing through this process, I might add), saying that the job description had been modified. To my surprise, I found that the job had completely changed, and suddenly turned from what was essentially a junior designer/video editor position into a social media manager role making important strategy decisions that were completely outside the scope of the original role... I can't say I've ever had this happen before, and seeing no other option, I went along with the change.
Unfortunately, throughout the third interview, the level of complete disinterest in me as a candidate was so palpable that it honestly shook me emotionally a bit. The hiring manager explained the change in job description saying that it was done to "reflect the experience of some of the other applicants ...*uncomfortable pause*... And yours as well". Also, the art test which I had spent several days working on, and was excited to talk about, was also not mentioned even once by the managers present in the third interview. Frankly, I wish that they'd just posted the position they actually wanted in the first place instead keeping me on the edge of my seat for nearly six weeks only to throw my work away without so much as a thank you.

Question 1
How would you respond to negative customer feedback?
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at StoryToys
Interview
I applied online and received a call the next day which was an initial phone interview. I was told if I made it to the next stage there would be another interview next week. I did and arranged to come to the office for interview but they decided to bring forward the interview and call me instead. I was asked to go through my CV and asked about my experience with the technologies required for the role and any experience in testing.
