A recruiter contacted me to schedule an initial phone screening. The recruiter joined the call late and appeared to be driving during the conversation, which made it difficult to have a focused discussion.
During the screening, I was told I was being considered for two positions, including one that I had not applied for. I clarified multiple times that the additional role was not the position I applied for and did not align with my background or qualifications. Despite this, the conversation continued to focus on that role, and I was told the team was hiring for it urgently.
The experience left me with concerns about the level of preparation and communication during the recruiting process. In a competitive job market, candidates invest significant time in interviews, and I expected a more organized and attentive screening experience.
