The interview process was easy going and to the point. The immediate supervisor was in charge of conducting it and described the role in detail for the candidate to consider.

Was interviewed by 3 individuals, 2 based in the Chicago office and one based in the New York office. They asked many design-oriented questions regarding both academic and professional projects. In general, they seemed much more interested in individual design thinking than confirming any technical experience. They did not seem very interested in answering questions regarding the firm, and left little time for me to ask anything at the end of the interview. They also spent most of the time analyzing my projects amongst themselves, and cut me off numerous times to ask questions. Overall, did not enjoy the dynamic nor the conversation.

Total of three rounds of interviews. First round with a project leader and one principal. Second round added with a senior designer and a principal. Third round with company partner.

They started with asking me to walk through resume and portfolio, and we dived-in to specific projects that caught the interviewers' eyes. They valued the design thinking behind each project -- about why and how.
