Interview
After reaching out directly, my position inquiry was quickly met with a response. The office coordinated an interview rather quickly which I took as a good sign they were serious and eager to fulfill the role. Interviewed directly with Milo and felt like it had a great outcome, discussed next steps. I did a typical follow up, and wanted to schedule a call specifically calling out a branded hotel. I took this as a positive sign but ended up being ghosted after that.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Studio MAI (Los Angeles, CA) in Aug 2018
Interview
I was kept waiting for over an hour on a Tuesday evening at 6pm and this had happened once before. The rest of the interview was fairly smooth. I was asked to walk through a few projects from my portfolio and to talk about my design process, approach and experience. I had a follow up interview with the studio manager and another designer to discuss technical capabilities. After that I communicated with the HR manager in negotiating pay and benefits. The hiring process took roughly a month or so.
