The process took over 2 months. Quite a few on-site interviews and several online assessments to take.
This seemed like a very good company and a good match for me. I really enjoyed all the people I met with.
While I was okay with their decision after many steps in the process, not being selected, I was very disappointed with the way the company conducted itself at the end of the process. After all that time and all of those interviews, I didn't even get the courtesy of a simple phone call at the end. Communication merely stopped abruptly. I was shocked given how they interacted with me during the process. I was called in for 5 on-site interviews and was subjected to 4 assessments online. The process dragged on and on. Each time, I was very flexible with my time, always accepting the first time slot offered. I was on-time/early for every meeting, turned around all the assessments quickly, always followed up with thank you's and did all I could to move the process along.
In total, between interviews, assessments, travel time and prep, I likely spent a minimum of 30 hours dedicated to just this company's process alone. After all of that, I would think I would be shown the same courtesy of follow up. I was promised a response by a certain date, that date came and went. I finally reached out to the Hiring Manager who responded with a one- sentence "we're going a different direction" reply. Interviewing candidates often, I have never had someone come on-site that many times and not have a personal conversation with them at the end of the process. I truly felt disrespected.
They used a third party recruiter. While he was nice enough, he was very disorganized. I often received emails that were supposed to go to another candidate. I can only assume the other person received some with my information. Interview start times were not coordinated well. I received assessment log-ins that didn't work (sent me the log-ins for the other candidate). Scheduled phone calls were missed. In the end, he was aware of my frustration over not hearing something directly and promised to confirm their decision and get back to me. I never heard anything.
They seem like a good company with good people. For future interviews, they really need to create a much better candidate experience.
