I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SurveyMonkey (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2021
Interview
The recruitment team is unprofessional, right from start to begging. Initially, a recruiter approached me for the PM role based out of Canada (remote). We discussed salary expectation and then he scheduled a call with the hiring manager .
The hiring manager was quite impressed with me and put me through 6 rounds of interactions/interviews, lasting 30 minutes each. The recruiter only informed me at the last moment that a case study had to be made (Red Flag 1).
Next, my 6 rounds went well. Now, the recruiter's boss (Anthony) took over and started discussing compensation with me. Right from the beginning, Mr. Boss started showing as rude attitude and said that Canadians cannot demand such compensation in the market! He gave flimsy excuses (getting approvals from others, that too in a startup!) and finally when I called him after 3 days, he did not even offer the base salary his report initially discussed with me. The ESOP offered was peanuts and Mr. boss said that I should be thankful a Canadian candidate is paid that much.
Disappointed, I decided not to consider Momentive again.

Interview
Introductory call with hiring manager and multiple rounds. It was one of the worst experiences I had where the VP was speaking with intent to prove oneupmanship rather than evaluate fit. It was an awkward call where interviewer lacked basic interview etiquette and empathy. Felt exhausted after the meeting and certainly doesn’t demonstrate the values of the company.
