Online application, followed up with dropping off letters of recommendation in person. Then I received a phone call and scheduled an appointment for an interview. During the interview several questions about my personality, crisis management and nursing skills were asked. A week or two later they called and said I got the job. I went to the hospital gave a urine sample for a drug test and then went to a new employee workshop.

Manager interview only, no other managers, assistant managers, nurses, or people present during the interview. On-site in the unit. Manager is very cool, professional, knowledgeable, confident, kind, and understanding :-)

Describe a time you supported a family experiencing fear or grief in the NICU. How did you approach the situation?
Straightforward interview. A few scenario questions and discussion of my background. No panel, just the floor manager. Interview lasted about 40 minutes and received an offer the next day. Other interviews at Sutter have involved a panel of managers but otherwise were similar to this one.

It was a panel interview with managers and other staff nurses, conducted in person and on site. They each took turns asking questions, but overall, it was a really good experience.
