TMX Group Software Developer interview questions

Applied online. The HR call was good and easy. He said the next step is a call with hiring manager to discuss about the projects I have worked on. But during the call the manager started asking deep technical questions which I was happy to answer but not prepared enough. At one point, he asked if I had not read the documentation of a technology because I coudn't asnwer the question. I felt like he expected since I worked on it I should have the documentation memorised. In this age where developers use google and AI for coding for most things, answering whats mentioned in a document is obsolete. The questions should be more focused on production depolyment, architecture and system design.
