I received an inquiry on LinkedIn about the positions to which I followed up with filling out their online application. Withinin hours, I had a phone call from HR to schedule an interview for 2 days later (a Friday). I arrived at my interview with a copy of my College degree and driver's license as requested. I went into a room with 3 hiring managers and another Program Analyst. Only 1 of the hiring managers asked any questions and they were very vauge and really horrible interview questions, at that. He asked "what do you do?" Since I do the same job for a different company I explained my current roles. None of the other managers asked questions, but rather played on their phones. Since I conduct interviews, myself, on a regular basis, I am familiar with what types of questions should be asked of candidates. I got the feeling that these gentelman had never conducted an interview in their lives. The expressed a dire need to fill these positions, as they had been vacant for a while. The one manager asked, "Do you have any evening obligations that would hinder you from staying late?" To which I answered "yes" but followed that up with I arrive early to work and am willing to work in the evenings after my family has settled into bed.
I followed up with my own questions, since I had read over their current contracts and inquired about their plan for recompeting their contracts as they were set to expire in a few months. They didn't have a great answer for any of my questions.
I followed up with their HR 2 weeks after my on-site interview and was told 2 of the 3 positions had been filled and if I wasn't chosen for the remaining position I would received an email. It's been 8 weeks and I've heard nothing. I even reached out two of the three hiring managers for feedback on my interview.
