      Chef Manager Interview

      1 Apr 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Taher (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

My interview began with a phone call. A week later I went in to a face to face interview. I followed up about 4 days later. I was told someone should have contacted me. Another few days passed and I received an assessment test so they could see where my strengths and weaknesses were. All good so far. Not long after the test I started getting email after email of paperwork to fill out. Appointments being set up, I think the hiring process has begun even though there was no confirmation. My mistake. After filling out my 4th round of paperwork I am told one of the important people wants to do a phone interview with me. “Good luck” was what I was told. Should have known then. After a month of interviews, paperwork and countless emails I had to initiate the “are we moving forward or not” email. All I was told is they were going with a different candidate. That would be okay if I hadn’t been told that two of the three Managers I’d been interacting with thought I was the person for the job. Lots of time wasted, personal information offered and a very good example of how to not treat a possible manager.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What’s on your resume? I can’t find it. Why did you leave that off of your resume? What plan do you have to make this cafe better? (Even though you know nothing about it).
