The BBC recently posted an article on the rise of the never-ending job interview, and Takeda is an excellent example. First a phone screen, video with hiring manager, followed by a 4-panel interview. Of course, they say they are “super serious about the role” and “need to fill it now,” but really, that is far from the truth. Despite being told by the hiring manager (who was quite nice) and recruiter that I am the top candidate and had excellent feedback from the panel, I never heard back from Takeda, even to today. Lucky for me, another company actually serious about hiring made me an offer 2 business days after my final interview before I could even worry about being ghosted. Looking on LinkedIn, no one has taken position at Takeda. Maybe it never existed? Waste of time!
