I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Teach Starter (Austin, TX) in Sept 2019
Interview
The company is in Australia, so setting up the interview was a little inconvenient. Their HR person is in Australia and we communicated through email, so I would send an email and would get a response the next day. They also wanted to interview between 5 and 7 pm so the other members of their team could video in. The actual interview went fine. They asked typical questions, but then told me at the end that my hours would be 10am-7pm to overlap with the hours they would be working in Australia. After the interview, I figured I wouldn't be offered the job because I told them those hours wouldn't work for me. However, I got an email that Thursday that asked to have a video chat sometime the following week (again, between 5 and 7pm) I waited 4 days until the following Monday night. HR started the chat by asking me "how I think everything went and if I had any questions" which led me to believe that I had made it to the next phase of interviewing. After I was done talking, he told me that I had not been selected to go on with the interview process. Overall, the whole thing was really weird. I don't know why they made me wait 4 days to video chat only to tell me that I wasn't moving on to the next phase.

Question 1
What is the most creative thing you have ever done in your classroom?
Hi! We only just discovered our Glassdoor page, so my apologies for the extremely late reply. Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this feedback. It is incredibly valuable to hear this from your perspective so that we can improve our interview and hiring process, in particular given the challenges of working between the US and Australia. Thanks again for applying and I wish you all the very best. Kind regards, Scott (co-founder)
