I interviewed in late February 2021. There was a phone screen and then two technical interviews. The recruiter was nice, but she didn't properly communicate what the interviews would entail (e.g. said the second interview would be a coding interview when it was all conceptual questions).
The first technical interviewer was very rude and it seemed like he didn't want me to get the question right. I felt like there was an element of sexism that contributed to that, because he would say things like "you need to learn how to be more articulate" when asking why I'm interested in SWE, basically insinuating that I'm not smart. I interviewed at many companies (and am joining a FAANG company this summer), and none of them have spoken to me in this way. Regardless, I got the coding question right and he had no choice but to move me onto the next round. He also kept saying things during the interview like "you're trying to cheat" basically trying to undermine my coding abilities which was odd because I was certainly not "cheating" (I was adding in conditionals to account for certain edge cases).
The hiring manager was nice, but there's no behavioral round and that really reflects in the attitudes of the engineers. So glad I chose to go to another company. Please avoid Teladoc if you're looking to join their back-end engineering team.
