I applied online. I interviewed at Telkonet (London, England) in Nov 2025
Interview
I invested several months in discussions that were presented as progressing toward a concrete opportunity, including indications of start timing and contractual alignment. However, after extended delays and inconsistent communication between stakeholders, the company reversed direction and froze the role, stating it had only been ‘exploratory.’ The experience felt disorganized, lacked clarity, and showed a disconnect between internal decision-makers.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Lots of mixed signals. Impulsive to meet and ask for a physical meeting and then abandoning the communication. Annoying question by Head of HR: "Where are you from originally?" Assistant HR: "Where is your accent from?" These were of poor form and show a peasant mentality, not outward-looking.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Telkonet (Milwaukee, WI) in Nov 2014
Interview
Phone interview screening, one on one phone interview with manager then on-site in person. Interview process was nice - it's just a conversation to figure out who you are and what drives you. Very upfront and honest interview. You'll meet your daily manager and the executive team.

Interview
If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. The company has terrible compensation plans, benefits, and commission structures. Although the interview process was casual and friendly, the offer was a huge disappointment. After looking at their financials, it would appear that they may just be looking to hire some entry level kids to blow through until they are acquired. It's not that they're necessarily dishonest, but perhaps they are trying to play in a game where the big boys are and they just can't compete.
