I was interviewed by someone who didn't seem to know much about science at all. Additionally, I was told that my qualifications were too high and that I'd be bored with the position due to the position being very redundant work. Very confused.

Have I ever had problems with tone in a messaging app?
There is an initial phone screening then a data exercise, once that's done it may be about a week before you hear back then they will proceed with an in person interview. After the interview it may be another 2 weeks, give or take before you hear back for a job offer.

Interview
Interview process took about 2-3 weeks. I first got a phone interview and was later invited for an in-person. The HR people were extremely helpful. I got notified about a week after the final interview.
