      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tenaris (Houston, TX) in Jun 2012

      Interview

I would describe this company's interviewing process as different. My friend that works there told me they were hiring people for the Global Trainee positions and gave me the email address to the recruiter. All I did was email my resume to her and she got in contact with me the same day, asking me to come in for the first round of interviews, which was not a traditional interview. It was more like an assessment. They gave us some details about the company and made us take a math test. The test was pass/fail. 2 points were earned for correctly answered questions, 1 point was lost for incorrectly answered questions and 0 point were earned for unanswered questions. If you passed you got to go to the next round of the day, where we did some individual and group activities. The individual activities consisted of building a monument out of Legos to describe your contribution to the company in 10 or 20 years. Also, we were instructed to build a eco-friendly condo. Everyone had to stand up and explain what they built and why they built it and answer a few questions from some of the company managers. In the group part, we were given a case study about a fake island with several economic problems to read over. As a team, we had to discuss what we needed to do to address these problems. Then give a presentation to the people in HR and the managers. I waited about 2 weeks before they got back to me and they asked me to come in for a second interview. This interview was more traditional, except for the fact that I had 4 interviews in 5 hours. It was a good way to get to know the company better, because you will get to interview with the managers you met during the first interview from the different segments of the company. i interviewed with the managers of operations, supply chain, planning and the GT program. My advice for the first round would be to take everything seriously. Think of it as a tradition interview when you are explaining what you did and when they ask you questions. Don't over analyze the tasks set in front of you. Think about why you built what you built and what you want to say. You will be observed the entire process. For the second round, take the time that you have off from interviewing a time to reflect on your past interview and how you are going to prepare for the next one. Show them that you are willing to learn, work hard and be flexible. (I think my flexibility is the main reason I didn't get an offer) And most importantly, RELAX.

      Interview

From the initial stages of recruitment to the final phase, everything proceeded smoothly, demonstrating the efficiency of the process. However, it was in the concluding stages where I encountered some unexpected obstacles. Despite these challenges, the hiring team displayed exemplary support and dedication, ensuring that the process remained seamless and ultimately successful. Their assistance proved invaluable in navigating the final hurdles and achieving a positive outcome.
