I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Palo Alto, CA) in Dec 2014
Interview
All of my intern interviews were over phone since I wasn't local. I went through one phone interview with an HR person and two technical interviews. Feedback was generally pretty quick and once I got through all of the technical interviews, I was told that my application needed to be approved by the board. This was also very quick.
