Interview
2 months after I submitted my application package, I received an email informed that I was selected for an phone interview. Not very much information in the email. I prepared myself. And the professor asked you about my previous research, my future 10 years plan if I am admitted by Texas A&M and also my research interests.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe your previous projects. What's the innovation part of them?
It’s a single-round interview. The professor asked me to carefully review several research papers beforehand. During the session, I’ll first discuss those papers through a Q&A format to test my understanding and critical thinking. After that, there will also be a few behavioral questions about my background, motivation, and how I approach research or collaboration. Overall, it’s meant to assess both my technical comprehension of the assigned papers and my interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Super nice and easy, basically just asked my qualifications and what I want to get from this lab. Super accommodating and I didn't even talk to the PI until much later.
