Question 1
HHSC administers complex programs with sometimes politically or otherwise sensitive stakeholder relationships. What are the keys to managing those relationships while successfully fulfilling your responsibilities to your organization? How do you manage conflict? Tell us about a time when you have managed a program or programs with actively involved stakeholders.
Based on your Medicaid knowledge, what do you believe the program’s top two to three challenges are in the coming years? Any thoughts on what can be done to prepare for and tackle them?
Describe the most challenging situation you have faced in managing a crisis. What was the crisis? What was your management philosophy and practice during the crisis? In retrospect, what, if anything, would you have done differently?
What is the most effective way to drive coordination across a large division (or team) where everything is interconnected in some way? Give an example of a time you effectively broke down silos and tell me how the outcome was more successful because of it.
