I am so disturbed and must put my experience here for people to know how it went.
Had a round today with them, one Director or something and one lead developer. I had worked for 6 years before hand in multiple technologies and one of them is QT. Couldn't hear properly what they said and after asking couple of times, they said its QT experience is what they are asking. I said yea worked for a while and the first question they asked is tell the binding of QML to Qt, Wow. How many Qt developers worked on that detailed and cut some slack man, its intern position. I went upto telling that QDeclarative class holds the key to binding that have set / get properties but he is not impressed with that.
After that all childish question came, how git works, how about team management. What roles you played and all. The software lead seems impressed as he knew its intern position and anything beyond what I was saying is over exceeded for the current round of interview. He wanted to talk about my current project and team at academics but this senior guy was already in different mood. I hope they get better candidate then me, coz I dont think I can handle him even if I land this one.
As, it seems it all depends on your luck, sometimes you come across such stupid interviewer who has no clue who they are talking with.
For that individual, boss, I was an interviewer too, but I knew my candidate before I confront. Please do so, its waste of your time / organization time / our time and if you wanna grill on those old technology, let us know beforehand. I would have relooked on technology which I had worked 2.5 years back.
Round was supposed to go for an hour but went cold after 10 mins and have ended in 12 or 15. LOL. So demotivated.
For Recruiter, please inform candidate about the role and expectation. I know for SE / SSE you specify them but for Intern, it was suppose to be generic rounds + past experiences unless you specified what you are looking for.
