      Part-Time Sales Teammate Interview

      22 Aug 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Orange Park, FL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at The Buckle (Orange Park, FL) in Aug 2014

      Interview

A close acquaintance who worked there referred me to openings in the store. I applied online, it took me a few days to finish, (I was on and off about it) but the day i submitted the application, I received an automatic email a few minutes later, telling me to call the number and schedule an interview, (and additional information). I called and spoke to the manager. We scheduled to meet up the very next day at 2:00 pm, and I thanked him and told him I was looking forward to it. I arrived to the interview 10 minutes early. I introduced myself to an employee, then asked to speak to the Manager. She walked me over to him, I thanked her, and proceeded to introduce myself to the Manager. I told him I had an interview with him, and he told me to wait a couple minutes while he printed out my application. I took the time to introduce myself to the Assistant-Manager as well, who was standing near-by. They all seemed very nice and welcoming. After about 5 minutes he walked back out and told me to follow him towards the back-corner of the store. (Interviews are held, on sales floor.) He asked me to tell me about myself (I went over my college life, past work/volunteer experience, my hobbies/past-times, etc.) Then he asked me a few things along the lines of, "Why do you want to work at Buckle?" "What interests you in fashion?" "How do you keep up with fashion?" "What are your strengths/weaknesses?" etc. Afterwards, he asked me, if I had any questions for him. I took the opportunity to ask "how a typical day at Buckle looked like." He responded with enthusiasm and in great detail, explained his love for building values, relationships and character into his employees. This let me know that he took his job seriously. I could tell he would be a fun, laid back boss, but at the same time, a serious, business orientated, "get the work done" type of guy. An equal balance of the two. After that, he said that I would receive a phone call within 48 hours. So the duration of the interview was about 10-15 minutes. I got a call the very next day. He offered the job opportunity to me, and asked when I could stop by to get additional information, in preparation. I told him that I would be available to come by in an hour and a half. From there, he explained a few more things, (including an upcoming team meeting that I should attend) and emailed me some online paperwork.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Buckle (Lone Tree, CO) in Jul 2020

      Interview

The interview process was very easy-going and open. The team leader was polite and showed genuine interest in my experiences and reason for approaching them for work. It was a quicker interview but it felt like a lot of good information was covered in the shorter amount of time.

      Interview

Well like everyone else filled out the online application and got an email saying to call the manager of the store to set up an interview time. I called and he was really nice and we decided on 3:00pm that Monday. I read all over the internet what to wear and I have absolutely NO clothes from buckle. So I picked out what I thought would be most like something they would wear! I wore: * Black skirt above the knee * Purple ruffle top V neck ( I even got a compliment from one of my interviewers!) * Black flowy cardigan on top * Long necklace *Purple danglely earrings * Black Flats My hair was out and curly I looked good ;) ha But basically I got there and was greeted by a cutiebear as I walked in he was really nice! I told him i was there for the interview and he took me towards the back of the store and explained that the manager doing the interview and had another person being interviewed as well . I shook hands with all of them then the assistant manager said she was going to do my interview because he had to do the other one. So she went and printed out my application and then we just stood in the back of the store and she asked me some basic questions. I must say I am glad that I prepared ! make sure you do your home work better to be over prepared than under! any way then she said she wanted me to talk with the manager and wait when he got dont with his other interview. SO i waited...for like 10 to 15 min.. and I walked around the store pretending to look intrested in thier clothes lol. All the employees obv are looking and observing you. So I made sure to go and talk to one of the girls I met earlier she was so nice and said I had "the look" and would get hired. We chatted for a bit but she obv had to get back to work. I wanderd around some more and then asked about a certin parfume at the counter casue it smelled really good ..trying to make convo without being to over bearing and needy ha. So then eventually he came back and I feel like he gave me a look of " why are you still here..?" We said Hi then he went in the back and talked to the woman who interviewed me . I waited yet again then he finally came out andI had to say " Hi she told me to wait for you and talk to you" then he was like Ohh right okay hold on let me get your application then he looked down and was like Oh I have it right here! .... then we stood at the back of the store and he asked me some more questions about my school (im in college) and my schedule and what I wanted to do for a career I told him and I mean come on I don't plan on working at buckle for the rest of my life so I told my real plans which has nothing to do with retail..ha maybe that detoured him a bit. He seemed detached and just stared kinda through me if that makes since. Long story short they said We will email you ... the dreaded sentence. ha if they say that your about 99% not getting hired because who EMAILS someone telling them they got a job..? EXACTLY. Ha oh well over all it was a good experience minus all the awkward waiting and standing around. Over all they seem like a great fun group of people to work with! So good luck to anyone who interviews :D
