I applied online. I interviewed at The Campbell's Company in Feb 2025
Interview
Multiple 1:1 interviews with various members of the team. Great questions and great conversation. The recruiter was very communicative and helpful throughout the interview process. Very seamless and organized process!
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at The Campbell's Company in Nov 2024
Interview
Despite a current Campbell's employee reaching out to me to apply for a role on their team that they thought I would be a good fit for and a position that I may have qualified for based on experience and interest, the screening call from the Recruiter was very disappointing. Instead of a standard screening call, I was told that I was underqualified and was told about the common qualifications typical candidates had for this kind of role.
Instead of allowing me to explain my current and former roles and responsibilities, speaking to skills, and industry knowledge that would overlap, I only had a short time to walk through those before the Recruiter told me she knew my field of work and jumped to conclusions that my skills were likely non-transferable. These assumptions came from a different company and different background. In this field, skills are typically transferable with a new frame of reference and perhaps some training that comes with any new role at any company.
My recommendation is that Hiring Managers and Recruiters speak more about open requisitions before speaking to candidates so that all parties are aligned.
