I applied online, and then received a request for an interview the week after. I met with two members of the core team, who asked me typical interview questions. They asked me about my background and experience for the position, as well as how I got to learn/know about the Food Trust. Within the the next two weeks, I received a request for a second follow up interview to meet with the remaining team. The interview questions were mostly about how I would fit into the team and culture, as well as giving me more time to ask questions about the organization. To this day, I have not heard back (four+ months later), while a friend of mine also applied separately for another position, only to get a response that the position has filled three months later.
If you're really passionate about the position you're interested in applying for, I would say go for it. However, I would not consider applying for a position given their lack of response and lack of consideration in communication to their applicants.
