I applied for an open position as PPC Specialist at Ocean Agency and was called back within a few days to conduct an interview in their downtown Chicago loop office. My impression was that this was a small agency with a mostly young staff. The office environment was casual but professional and seemed pretty quiet and low key. In my short time there it seemed like it would be a good place to work and I didn't have anything negative to say about it. After I spoke with the person there (mid level marketing manager probably only about 25 years old) for about 10 minutes or so, I was given a short test to see how I would structure a potential PPC client in Google Adwords. I was given a URL and a brief description of products and then given around 10-15 minutes to create an example Adwords campaign. After the skills portion of the interview, I then talked to the same manager as again for another five minutes or so. Within two days of the interview I was hired by another company I had interviewed at. I called Ocean to remove myself from consideration and they were friendly and wished me luck. Overall I was left with a positive impression of the company.
