Easy process, friendly and inviting environment. Felt like I was having an easy talk with the hiring manager. Wanted to know my long term goals and how the company would support those goals.
I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Lexington-Fayette, KY) in Nov 2016
Interview
The interview was about 30 minutes. The supervisor who interviewed me was very kind and welcoming. It was more of a nice conversation. We discussed my previous experience and situational questions, and why I wanted to work at the YMCA specifically. The interview as a whole was focused on how well you work with children and if you know how to properly handle situations that can most likely occur while working with children for example two fighting children. I was then given a short tour of the different child care areas and introduced to some of the staff. The position does require CRP and First Aid Training, but it's the YMCA so they will train you if you aren't already certified.
