Think of Us interview questions

I applied online and was invited to an initial phone interview within the next couple of business days. Communication was very clear and professional. A set of possible days/times was sent and the interview was scheduled that same week. I assumed the interview would be with their hiring recruiter, but should've asked, because it ended up being with the person who would be the manager for the role. So I had to change gears very quickly at the start of the 30 minute phone interview. During the phone interview, I was asked a few technical and background questions. I also had time to ask the manager questions and learn more about their current organizational structure and data culture. I learned they were in a very early stage of building their data and analytics arm for the company, which sounded exciting. The manager specifically said they wanted a unicorn for this role, which I understood as looking for someone who could do everything while also leading and growing the team. A few days after this phone interview I was invited to complete a workplace exercise within 72 hours. They asked when I would like to be sent it, and noted it should only take 2-4 hours to complete. This was accurate. They mentioned that if the hiring team were to move forward after this, I would be invited to a zoom interview to present the exercise to their teammates, followed by a final meeting with their Executives and (another) 1:1 with the manager of the role. Two weeks later, I got a generic email stating that the hiring team decided to not move forward with my application. The email also stated that due to capacity they would not be able to provide feedback on individual applications either.
