I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok (Singapore) in Aug 2020
Interview
WORST experience ever. Inefficient. I don't think the internal team talks to each other. So many people reached out to me via LinkedIn and when I replied, they disappear for weeks. I was a passive candidate and YOU reached out to me. Have the courtesy to respond.
Anyways, finally i got to the main set of interviews. I did not have a recruiter phone screen which is normal in EVERY company. I was straight away set up for the first round with someone I didn't know anything about. All I was told was you are speaking to someone and they will introduce themselves before the call. Okay, don't tell me the name but at least tell me if I am talking to a Manager, Peer or a VP so I can be prepared. Subsequently, I made it to the final rounds and I was then interviewed by someone who had just been with the company for 4 weeks. Had half the years of experience as me. Asked me questions like, do I know SQL or google sheet formulas. My answer was no and I asked him why is it required for a recruiter role which is to fill jobs? It was not even listed in the Job description. He had no answer and I was rejected after 4 rounds of interviews by someone who had just joined the company and was not equipped for interviews. Please think through your interview panel.
I then asked the recruiter for feedback and she ghosted on me. I reached out to the final interviewer via LinkedIn asking for feedback and he responded weeks later that he can't share. I mean, really? What kinda company can't share feedback with the candidate.
They have a decent brand name but the recruitment team is a complete mess. CHAOTIC is the right word to describe them. They've got a long way to go. Please fix your TA team and get in order. You've got so many bad reviews on Glassdoor and you guys don't seem to care
