I was interviewed by the company's Data Product and Technology responsible for a data-focused position. They asked about my experience in Data but non-relevant questions about Product Management. They expect the next product manager to do the job without supervision and guidance.
I spent a full week preparing a detailed business case as part of the selection process. After the company’s summer holiday break, I was informed via email that they had decided to move forward with other candidates. Their feedback was that my submission was "too detailed for stakeholder presentation" and that they preferred a simpler, more concise format - despite not having communicated this preference in advance.
Five months later (January 2025), I was contacted by a recruiter for the same position. This time, the role was extended to candidates in Kenya and South Africa, where the company’s headquarters are located. It seems they are still struggling to fill the position, despite reportedly receiving over 100 applications.
