The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc (New York, NY)
Interview
A bit tedious. Half hour with recruiter, hour long technical, 5 hours with 6 people, 2 hours of which are technical. Noone seemed interested in what I know or have on my resume necessarily but more of what they expect you to grind away at. From discussions with friends in the restaurant industry, the software has ease of access problems that didn't click well with covid, where the company likely could have done without layoffs and better addresses for the customers they claim to want to support, and it doesn't appear to me from my discussions that their return to scale after has yet resolved many of their ease or scale issues and has a long way to go, indicating the work in the near future will likely be exhausting; didn't get an offer as we didn't click, likely would've declined.

Question 1
questions are likely nda as I had to sign so holding off here.
Thanks for taking the time to interview with Toast. We recognize that there is a substantial technical portion of our interview process, and we find that helps us best assess which candidates would be best aligned to a given role at Toast. Although COVID-19 challenged our industry in many ways, we continue to stand by our customers and provide the best products and services possible. I wish you the best of luck in your job search. - Alex Mimms, Senior Manager, Technical Talent Acquisition
