I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Boston, MA) in Nov 2016
Interview
Interview was fairly straight forward. Applied online and received an email the following week to schedule a phone interview with recruiter. Phone interview consisted of standard questions (why this company, why this role, why leaving current employer) followed by an recruiter giving an overview of the company's history, how this role fits int their progress, and a brief overview of the salary offered for the role and other company perks,
The next day I received an email asking me to use their online calendar to schedule an onsite interview. Onsite interview occurred one week later, I met with 5 people each for a 30 min one-on-one sessions. Largely a cursory review of how my experience met the needs of the company, an explanation that roles can change often at a start-up, and a lot of questions on how I responded in the past/would respond to a given situation (I imagine to gauge how well I would fit in company culture.) I was told I would hear back within a week following my on-site. While that didn't happen, HR did call me within that window to inform me they would need a few more days which was nice. Offer came 7-10 days after interview.
