I think Toast misses the mark on how to conduct a meaningful interview process. It felt they were trying to emulate what Amazon, Facebook, or Google does but does not follow through. The interview consisted of an initial phone screen, followed by another longer phone screen, then a panel interview for three hours. This was all done virtually via Zoom. Questions were clearly scripted out by interviewers that seemed to have little to no interest in the conversation. Slack messages were dinging on computer screens and employees seemed more engaged with what was going on with their chats than the interview at hand. Really discouraging and affected my morale during their process.

The interview process was virtual and in total lasted around 3.5 to 4 hours. I was welcomed by a host and was given a virtual tour of the office and historical overview of the company. From there I met people from the team in one on one Zoom calls and those conversations lasted anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. Everyone was friendly asked good questions and answered my questions genuinely. They all seems passionate about the job and company.
