Senior Director, GTM Salesforce Engineering Interview

      1 Sept 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Atlanta, GA) in Jun 2023

      Interview

Met with the Executive Talent team who reached out to me on Linkedln. Advised I would be a good fit and suggested next steps. I was clear that I had another opportunity and needed to expedite the process - I also advised them that I didn't want to waste my time if they needed to put me in a holding pattern while they worked through other interviews from the candidate pool. I was assured they could make an immediate decision. Then interviewed with the hiring manager who said that they were early in the process and needed to ascertain candidates. So again asked the Executive Talent Team about being in a holding pattern and advised I was not OK to move forward if this was the case. They advised me that it would not happen in my situation. So I then went through 5 rounds of interviews, and honestly I was not impressed by the caliber of leadership folks interviewing me. Most were unprepared, distracted and exhibited traits of disrespect or ADHD behaviors. Upon wrapping up, I was advised I had to wait a week for the team to debrief about the interviews. Of course, no follow up after that time, so I checked-in with the Talent Team and heard that the manager was now adamant to get through the other candidate interviews in another 10 days and I had to now wait since the manager's word goes. EXPLAINED THIS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE since it was exactly what I was trying to avoid and made this clear upfront. Of course I received some BS rationale. Wasted 10 hours of my time on just being a pawn in their convoluted toxic process. These people only tell you what you want to hear and use bait and switch hiring tactics. They don't uphold their own "drink the kool aid" values and are quite honestly a dishonorable bunch. I am going with another opportunity and glad I dodged this bullet. What a pathetic excuse for a company!
